Nicholas & Bears and Ritz-Carlton,
Hong Kong set a guinness world records for The Longest Line of
Nicholas & Bears and The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong were recognized with a Guinness World Records certificate for the longest line of teddy bears, presented by adjudicator Lisa Hoffman to Mr. Pierre Perusset, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and Mr. Joey Tong, Chief Operations Officer of Nicholas & Bears.
On December 30, 2013, more than 4,000 limited-edition bears, specially designed by Nicholas & Bears, were lined across the inner circumference of Level 102 at The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. Special guests young Kerry, an 11-year-old talented artist who is suffering from a serious illness; Niki Chow, ambassador of Make-A-Wish; and Mrs Elaine Tong, Chief Executive Officer of Nicholas & Bears, together with Mr. Pierre Perusset and Mr. Joey Tong, held the last five teddy bears to complete the line.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong as well as to bring all guests together in spreading love and care to children in need. The timeless Ritz-Carlton tradition of Teddy Bear afternoon tea set was served to the attendees.
The event also granted a wish for Kerry, who wished to have her own art exhibition which would display 30 of her artworks. Selected paintings were sold to guests, and Nicholas & Bears matched the value and donated the full amount generated.
The special-edition bears, which come in three different sizes, will also be available for charity sale after the record attempt with selling prices of HK$100, HK$250 and HK$1,230. The funds raised by Nicholas & Bears throughout the fundraising campaign will be donated to Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong.
Make-A-Wish® Hong Kong, a non-profit charity organization, was founded to grant wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in Hong Kong and Macau, thereby enriching their lives with hope, strength and joy. With the excitement of having their dream realized, many children learn to be more joyful and are more optimistic in fighting their illnesses. The Ritz-Carlton, Hong Kong and Nicholas & Bears wish to convey the message of caring for them together in an international setting. This is a Guinness World Records achievement for Hong Kong and for all those children in desperate need of more love and care. So let’s join hands and spread the message to everybody. We are dedicating this record, our Guinness World Records achievement, to our children.
Also seen at the event were high-society personalities Dr. Albert Wong & Mrs Pauline Wong, Mr. Brandon Chau & Mrs Jenny Chau, Mrs. Emily Tang, Mrs Jackie Liu, Mrs Virginia Siu and Mrs. Winnie Engelbrecht-Bresges.
